On January 22, 2007 The Guardian Unlimited launched its weekly islamophonic podcast and by doing so accomplished two rather extraordinary achievements:
1. Islamophonic makes a religion mired in bad press terrifically interesting in a contemporary context;
2. Islamphonic introduces us to Riazat Butt who is hand down the most fascinating voice to ever come out of my iPod, and I’m including Louis Armstrong’s.
As unlikely as it sounds, Raizat Butt on Islamophonic interviewing about Islam is one of the most entertaining and informative programs out there. Try it through the Guardian or through iTunes and tell me I’m wrong.
