Military Spending

Here is a look at the 13 largest military expenditures:

France is interesting, as it must have something to do with their remaining colonies. Interesting that there is a $15 billion margin between France and Britain. I would not have expected that. Nor did I expect to see Italy and Brazil outspending India.

I’m suprised about some other names up there too. I suppose Japan can be justified by the perceived threat from North Korea. But Germany….?

I thought they packed this is in last century.

I’m by no means an advocate at all of the wars we are fighting (speaking as a UK resident), but if the Bitish goverment think there is such a just cause to fight these wars, that are perceived by many as enforcement of Bush’s foreign policy, shouldn’t they be getting their cheque books out?
