“Our national security in the year 2030 is absolutely dependent upon what is going on in pre-kindergarten today.” — Rear Admiral James Barnett, US Navy (Ret.)
What other nation thinks like this?
The objective of the liberal education used to be so that young adults could live productive, fulfilling, interesting lives. Now, it’s so they can get into the military to participate in the next frigging war.
Two weeks ago 80 US senior military types produced something called Mission: Readiness, a report that indicated that todays US youth are either too unfit or too poorly educated to qualify for the military. And the consequence of this? US national security is threatened. There won’t be enough qualified bodies to fight the next concocted war.
But what about the health of the US community? That should be the focal point for a call for improved education, health and fitness and it should come from every political leader in the country — from the President, to governors, to mayors to councillors. Every one of them. Instead the message is coming from the the bloody military leadership.
Which is a great thing for the status quo.
I’d be fat and stupid, too, if it would keep me from killing people I don’t know for reasons I don’t understand.
