The surreal words of war

“Anyone who has been charged with murder for their first kill on the battlefield on the order of his superior and is found not guilty is happy,” Capt. Craig Drummond, a defense attorney, said outside court after the verdict.

This account of a trial by military panel could have come from the book Catch-22: US Army sniper not guilty of murder.

There are report that over half the Americans who have fought in Iraq have suffered some form of mental disorder. A quick read of this will tell you why.

I am from a country and a generation that has never had to go to war and I thank whatever God there be for that, and always after reading accounts like this.
