Afghanistan and Nato

“I am not satisfied that an alliance whose members have over 2 million soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen cannot find the modest additional resources that have been committed for Afghanistan,” US Defense Secretary Robert Gates told a news conference after a meeting of a separate organization of southeast European countries.

And nor should we be satisfied. Either Afghanistan is worth the effort or it is not. Why should a few countries tilt this windmill if the rest of Nato is taking a pass?

And where are the Muslim countries? Are they happy to sit by and watch fellow Muslims supply the world with heroine?

Gates faults NATO on Afghanistan.
