Worst job in the world: Monitoring Glenn Beck

Now here is a job no sane person should ever accept …

“Starting today,” writes Jason Linkins in the Huffington Post, “we are going to be turning our attention to Glenn Beck and his outrageous verbiage. This is a bigger job than any one person can handle. So if you notice anything that Beck says or does that warrants our attention, please let us know and we will be sure to document it and write about it. Tips can be sent to jason@huffingtonpost.com.”

Today’s offering from As Wildfires Burn, Beck Flames Victims:

Amid CNN’s full-spectrum coverage, however, only one man has had the guts…err — rather, the mental derangement — to find the silver lining in the inferno. That person? Glenn Beck, who told his listeners, “I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.”

If somebody really is monitoring Beck, it would be interesting to know how many times per show he mentions his personal note of humanity/humility/bravado: “I over came a drinking problem, you know” — or the variations of his “I’m an everyman” admission.
