Pakistan and the US war in Afghanistan

Hard not to conclude that the senseless slaughter that is now unfolding in Pakistan — another 90 dead today, is not directly linked to the US occupation of Afghanistan.

It appears obvious: US policies are doing to Afghanistan and Pakistan what they have accomplished in the Middle East: destabilized the region while encouraging terrorism.

As President Obama mulls over his decision whether or not to double down in Afghanistan, he might consider future commitments to Pakistan and Iran and Syria. The dominos are all lined up, teetering, ready to fall. It won’t take much. An escalation could do it.

What will be his Coalition of the Willing then?
