What is the total length of stitched cuts in a single year caused from opening those f••king tough plastic containers with razor-sharp Exacto knives, what the American’s call box cutters? I’d love to know.
Got to be, like seven miles — I could contribute a couple of feet on my own.
I ask this because we run across these weird stats all the time.
For instance, a few years ago I learned from the Harpers’ Index that 5 people were killed by vending machine (you can imagine how).
The BBC today tells us that “Over five years some 66,000 Americans ended up in emergency departments with injuries caused by ride-on lawn tractors.”
I’m thinking those injuries wouldn’t be treated with a little iodine and band aides.
