Untried Gitmo-ites to become Illinoisians?

As BagnewsNotes points out, how hard a decision will it be for the 500 or so residents of Thomson, Ill., 10% of whom are unemployed, to accept a few prisoners from Gitmo to help fill it’s all but vacant $129 slam?

The real news here is that there is a vacant prison in the US. What are the stats? With just 5% of the world’s population the US has 25% of the world’s prisoners.
